While I am sure there will be many business mistakes to come... I don't like making them. And today mistake #1 was recognized and I feel just horrible about it. Launching Cynnamon Charmed online was a big deal for me and I was trying to reach as many "like minded" people as possible. Of course I shared with my friends and also with the Facebook groups that would allow it. With the Facebook groups, I went to their pinned posts and read their rules. While several didn't allow business advertising, others did with permission or with guidelines. I got permission for the ones I needed and followed the guidelines for the others. So, when I received an email today letting me know (in a very polite way) that I had violated advertisement rules over email, I was pretty surprised. I didn't even stop and consider their being laws or even etiquette related to that aspect of advertising. I should have......but I just didn't :(
I got the opportunity to join this really neat little pin pal mail exchange thing with a group of people that I knew would appreciate the products that I have in my shop. I didn't organize the group but I got an email with info about the program and everyone involved email was listed there. In my mind, I thought that sending an email to these people advertising my new company would be smart and I didn't really think about the fact that I may need permission to do that. Yeah.....bad call! I didn't get permission from the organizer OR the individuals. The woman that organized the group is a fantastic person that I have actually learned a lot from through her blogs and other videos and social media and I hate that I may have offended her. In addition, it would be very stupid of me to intentionally do this among such a group that I may harm the name of company before even getting started. So, like I mentioned, I got an email letting me know what I had done wrong. And, it was incredibly polite and, rather than attack me, this person actually gave me some great links and information to refer to so that I can learn the "rules". Both her information and her approach to this was highly appreciated. I apologized and communicated my intent and we parted with a mutual understanding. Afterwards, I wondered "Oh, no! I apologized to her but what about all these other people that I sent this advertisement to(like the organizer)? Should I send an apology?" But, after much reflection, I think that may be a very BAD idea. It's like saying "Oh, I am so sorry I violated your privacy by sending you the first message, but hey let me send you an apology and violate your privacy even further." So, I sit here blogging an apology to people that probably won't ever see it. I am humbled as a newbie and realize I have so much to learn. I knew marketing the business would be my weakness but didn't think I'd make this big of a mistake so soon. I purposely didn't add the names of people or groups to this but they know who they are if they see it. And to them all, "I truly apologize for my actions and hope you all can see it for the honest mistake and oversight that it was." Blessed Be!

Yesterday evening I officially "launched" Cynnamon Charmed! The response in the past 18 hours has been fantastic and I am really excited to be sharing my passion with all of you. However, I must admit that it is also very scary. For a long time, what I do has been sort of intimate and I don't talk much about it with other people. Lots of friends and family knew that I loved gathering herbs and flowers but rarely did someone ask what happens after that.....what do I do with them. To me, that's the MOST interesting part. My husband would joke with friends that I was hoarding 3 gallons of vodka in my office, and after I got several strange looks, I began wondering if people thought I hid out in there drinking it. ;)
For a long time, any questions I did get about my herbs and things, I would tell people I was doing it for my chickens and animals. And this was the truth, that is how it really all began. When I started raising chickens for eggs for my family, I knew I didn't want to be feeding them full of antibiotics or other things that would make them just like the ones I can buy at the store. As an animal lover, I wanted something healthier for them and also for us. I would dry herbs for their nesting box to spruce it up and make it smell good and to mix into their food in the winter to bring them vitamins and minerals that they didn't get during that time of the year. I began making homemade food for my dogs and adding mint for their breath and turmeric (golden paste treats are fantastic) for my seniors achy joints. In the early days, our ancestors used plants they grew or harvested in their area to treat themselves, their families and their livestock. Women were very knowledgeable in herbal medicines as just general knowledge passed down through families. Doctors were hard to come by and rarely could be afforded. Those were also the days of the Old Religion. There was only but a fine line between medicinal herbs and magickal herbs because however they were regarded they had the healing effect desired. Today many people have separated the two or all but forgotten about them. Modern conveniences have allowed us to rely on others for necessities. Makes me worry what people will do if there should come a day when pharmacies and grocery stores are no longer available. I think we need to remember that we were put on this Earth with everything we need to survive and thrive provided to us by Mother Earth. And sometimes, connecting with that energy and grounding ourselves is what we really need to heal our body, our mind and our spirit. Cynnamon Charmed will allow people a way to connect back with Mother Earth and benefit from some of the things she has to offer in the most raw form possible, aside from growing and harvesting yourself. I will give you ideas on how to use my products, and even send "Charmed Tips" in every box that I ship. And most importantly, I will always be available to answer questions, or even craft new products for your individual needs. Help us spread Cynnamon Charmed like wildfire! Invite your friends to "like" our FB page and/or follow us here at Charmed Daily. Have a wonderful Wednesday and Blessed Be! I know I have mentioned here and there about the issues I have been having with getting my products to "process" through the Facebook Shop platform. Well, after not hearing back from customer service about the issue and them "pending processing" for 5-6 days now, I decided to change the way Cynnamon Charmed customers will shop. Rather than using the Facebook Shop, we will be converting all our shopping to our Etsy shop. There were substantial benefits to moving the shop to Facebook, especially related to listing costs and transaction costs but if I can't get my products to list on my page none of that matters anyways. So, you can still go through the Facebook page Cynnamon Charmed if you want to. There is a "SHOP NOW" button on the home page there that will take you directly to our Etsy Shop. We would still love to have you "like" our FB page because we will be doing product updates and lots of other information there. Hopefully, all these changes will make it easier to get our products to you! Blessed Be!

I am really excited about this one. Up to now, all the sprays have been charged with appropriate stone surrounding them before shipping. However, I feel like by adding it inside to the spray itself, its making it even more powerful then before. In addition, when the spray is gone, you are left with a gemstone that you can keep and add to your collection. These stones were all carefully selected to amplify and work with the properties of the smudge sprays that were chosen for. In addition, there will NOT be a price increase for this added bonus. Crystal Quartz will be added to every bottle to amplify the other stone it is with. In addition to this gemstone, you will find the following:
Malachite in the SO MOTE IT BE....GONE! Smudge Spray-- this is a highly protective stone of children and a great one to calm fear and bad dreams. Black Onyx in the Sage Smudge Spray and the Poor Man's Treacle Smudge Spray..... This stone is protective and it is healing. It is good for separating us from negativity. It absorbs and transforms negative energy, while prevents in draining of personal energy. It also aids in physical and emotional strength during times of stress. Carnelian in the Oak King Smudge Spray and the Eros Smudge Spray.... This is a masculine, empowering stone that draws on the power of the Gods. It brings with it warmth, joy, courage, leadership and endurance. It's also a stone that is used for love, rekindling passion and fertility. Amethyst in the Elf Leaf Spray and in the Lavender & Rosemary Spray.... This is a protective stone that offers help with lucid dreams, calmness, and relaxation . It has sedative properties that offer happiness, peacefulness and contentment. So, start looking for gemstones in all smudge sprays ordered after August 15, 2017. |
